Privacy Policy for Touch Grass

Last updated: 11 September 2026 · Provided by Toolzpoint

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Touch Grass, also listed as Touch Grass: Walk to Unlock and provided by Toolzpoint, handles information when you use its app blocking, walking, account and leaderboard features.

2. Information stored on your device

Touch Grass stores your selected restricted apps, app identifiers and labels, settings, unlock expiry, cached profile and recent walking-session history on your device. On Android, it accesses installed-app information so you can choose apps to restrict, and app usage events to detect when a selected app is opened. The app does not upload your restricted-app list or app usage events through its current cloud-sync features.

3. Walking and activity information

Touch Grass uses available step and motion sensors to detect walking and calculate session progress. Session records include step counts, goals, start and completion times, unlock expiry and session status. Aggregate statistics include steps, estimated distance, streaks and estimated screen-time metrics. These estimates may differ from other activity apps. When you are signed in, profile statistics and walking-session records are sent to Supabase for storage and sync. Raw accelerometer samples are processed on the device rather than uploaded by the app.

4. Accounts and profile information

If you sign in with Google, Google and Supabase process authentication information to establish your account. Touch Grass stores your account identifier, email, display name and available profile image URL. It also stores profile details you provide, such as age and city. City is entered by you; the app does not request GPS location permission. Authentication state and cached profile information are also stored on your device.

5. Leaderboards and visibility

Signed-in profile statistics support global and city leaderboards. Your display name, profile image when available, city, step totals, estimated distance, streak and screen-time metrics may be visible to other people through the leaderboard. Choose a display name and profile details you are comfortable making visible. Signing out does not remove your existing server profile or leaderboard entry.

6. Why information is used

Information is used to operate app restrictions, count progress toward walking goals, calculate unlock windows, remember settings, authenticate accounts, sync profiles and walking sessions, and display leaderboards. If you contact support, the information you provide is used to respond and investigate your request.

7. Permissions and background operation

On Android, Physical Activity access supports step counting; Usage Access detects selected apps; Display over other apps shows the blocking screen; and app visibility supports app selection. A foreground service monitors restrictions with a notification. Notification, restart and battery-management capabilities support this operation. You can manage permissions in Android settings, but disabling them may stop related features. On supported iOS builds, Motion & Fitness and Screen Time authorization support walking and selected-app restrictions; available features depend on platform support.

8. Service providers and network requests

Touch Grass uses Supabase for authentication, database hosting and synchronization, and Google Sign-In when you choose that sign-in method. Profile images and fonts may be retrieved from their hosting providers. These requests disclose information needed to deliver a network service, such as your IP address and request metadata. Providers may process operational or security logs under their own terms. Information may be processed outside your country depending on provider infrastructure. The current app does not integrate advertising SDKs or sell data through its features.

9. Storage, security and retention

Connections to the configured Supabase backend use HTTPS. Local information is held in app storage and preferences protected by the operating system; device backup settings may affect backup and restoration. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Local cached history is limited to the most recent 50 sessions. Server profiles and session records are not automatically deleted by signing out or uninstalling the app and are retained for the account and sync features until removed. Provider logs and backups can have separate retention periods; deleting active records does not necessarily erase backup copies immediately.

10. Your choices and deletion

You can edit available profile fields, sign out, and revoke device permissions. Clearing Android app storage removes the local app data, but does not delete server records; signing in again may restore synced data. To ask about access, correction or deletion of your account and associated profile, leaderboard and walking-session data, email Toolzpoint at ak663904@gmail.com. Include the email associated with your account, but never send a password or sign-in token. Account ownership may need to be verified.

You can also delete your account in the app: open Profile, choose Delete account, review the confirmation and choose Delete permanently. An internet connection and sign-in are required. After the server confirms deletion, the account, profile, leaderboard entry and current and legacy walking-session records are removed from the active database; the app signs you out and clears the saved profile and walking history on this device. Your Google account is not deleted. Device app-restriction settings remain available for guest use. Signing in again creates a new Touch Grass account. Any data that must be retained for a legal or security obligation, and the reason for retaining it, will be explained when handling your request.

11. Children and safe use

Touch Grass is a general digital wellbeing tool, not a child-monitoring service. If you believe a child has provided information that should be removed, contact Toolzpoint at ak663904@gmail.com. Use the app only where you are permitted to do so under applicable law and any required parent or guardian consent.

12. Changes and contact

Changes to this policy will be reflected in its last-updated date. For privacy questions or requests, contact Toolzpoint at ak663904@gmail.com.
